The Veterans of Foreign Wars highly supports the education of America's Youth. VFW Citizenship programs stimulate interest in America's history, traditions, Americanism, civic responsibility, flag etiquette and patriotism. Our Teacher of the Year program is focused on identifying and recognizing America's BEST educators who instill a sense of national pride in students.

Each year, Post 2290 and its Auxiliary awards a $600 scholarship to a graduating senior of each of these schools:

Our 2026 Day of Service Project focused on replacing flags on the graves of Veterans buried in Sacred Heart (Christ the Redeemer), Holy Ghost, St. Stephan and Paul and VanNest Cemeteries located south of Manville.
Over 1,900 flags were replaced by Post Members as well as members of Troop and Pack 193 which are sponsored by Post 2290!
