Annually, the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States sponsors the Voice of Democracy Audio Essay Contest where High School students from across the county compete for up to $35,000
in Scholarships by submitting an audio essay on a Patriotic topic. This year's topic is
"What A Veteran Taught Me about America"
Voice of Democracy Applications can be submitted either electronically using a QR code
to access the Scholarsapp Program website, or by submitting a paper application
at a local participating VFW Post (like Post 2290 in Manville) by October 31, 2026.
